³⁸ I have sent you to harvest what you have not worked for. Others have worked, and you have adopted their work as your own.”

³⁹ Now many of the Samaritans of that town believed in Jesus^[a] because the woman had testified, “He told me everything I’ve ever done.”

⁴⁰ So when the Samaritans came to Jesus,^[b] they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there for two days.
